After a big fat Punjabi wedding of Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra last year, 2016 was also special as celebrities made headlines of their marriages one after other. From Bollywood celebrities to sports personalities, TV celebs to Punjabi singers, this year celebrities were continuously hitting the media and grabbed many eyeballs for marking the new beginning of their lives by getting married. Here is the list of celebrities who tied the knot in 2016 by making the headlines.

Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech

After much talked about their engagement, cricketer Yuvraj Singh and model turned actress Hazel Keech were also in the limelight for their big fat wedding. They tied the knot on 30^th December 2016 with a glittery ceremony in Chandigarh with all traditional rituals. Hazel was looking resplendent in maroon lehenga where Yuvi was looking classy complimenting her with the same shade. There was a 2-day wedding ceremony in Chandigarh and Goa and a star-studded reception in the capital, (Delhi) which make it a big fat wedding.

Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover

Bengali beauty Bipasha Basu and the heartthrob of Bollywood Karan Singh Grover are also on the wedding list. The couple tied the knot in a very private ceremony on 30^th April 2016 in Mumbai followed by the traditional Bengali rituals. The 3 days wedding ceremony from Mehendi to reception, the couple was having a fairytale wedding and they enjoyed to the fullest. Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan etc all  A-listers Bollywood stars have attended the reception and give their blessings to the couple.

Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dhaiya

The popular TV faces Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dhaiya also get married this year on 8^th July 2016 in Bhopal followed by the traditional Hindu wedding customs. The wedding was attended by the family and close friends. Divyanka was looking amazing in red and golden lehenga where Vivek was also looking a handsome groom in an off white embroidered sherwani. The couple is happily married and went to Europe to welcome the New Year.

Lisa Hyden and Dino Lalvani

The Chennai-born modern turned actress Lisa Hyden tied knots with his alleged boyfriend Dino Lalvani after dating one year on 29th October 2016. The couple had a prettiest beach wedding ceremony in one of the abounded beaches of Thailand. The actress was looking mesmerizingly beautiful in a corset with a floral tiara on her head accompanied by the veil which was sore to many eyes whereas as Dino Lalvani make a handsome groom in his off- white suit with a floral broach on the lapel complementing her bride.

Kishwer Merchant and Suyyash Rai

After 6 years of dating, television couple and Bigg Boss season 9 contestants Kishwer Merchant and Suyyash Rai finally tied the knot on 16^th Dec 2016.The Mehendi was planned by Kisherw’s Muslims rituals and sangeet were planned by Suyyash Punjabi traditions and then they got married in a court on 16^th Dec which shows their immense love. The couple later hosted a private reception for their close friends and family and also made the web series of their hot and happening wedding  “Sukish Ki Shaadi” with making the headlines.

Asin and Rahul Sharma

2016 was an also a special year for Bollywood actress Asin as she also tied the knot with Business Rahul Sharma, co-founder of Micromax informatics on 19 January 2016. The marriage was followed by the both Christian and Hindu customs. In morning the couple had a Christian wedding ceremony which was later followed by Hindu customs. Superstar Akshay Kumar who played the cupid for the couple was the main attraction of the whole wedding ceremony. Her 20 carat solitaire engagement ring also bagged the attention of her fans.

Preity Zinta and Gene Gudenbough

The dimple beauty of Bollywood was also chosen Gene Gudenbough as her life partner in an intimate gathering in Los Angeles. The star-studded reception was hosted by the couple in Mumbai which was attended by Shahrukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Ram Nene, Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, Farah Khan among all A-listers celebrities of Bollywood. Preity in Manish Malhotra’s red gown with Punjabi chudas and Gene in Black suit were looking adorable.

Raftar and Komal Vohra

The Punjabi singer and Rapper Raftar is also on the list of wedding 2016. He got married with his long time girlfriend Komal Vohra at a private wedding ceremony on 1^st December 2016 in Delhi. The couple followed all the Punjabi customs and rituals as Raftar believes that Punjabi weddings are having more fun.The singer shared his wedding pictures on Instagram by the caption “Married to My Soul Mate”
