Anavila finds a muse in Priyanka Bose for her “What is the Sari for, in 2017?” at the LFW

It was day 2- Sustainable Fashion & Textile Day at Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort’17 and Designer Anavila Misra known for successfully weaving new textiles with different organic yarns in natural dyes showcased her ‘What is the Sari for, in 2017’collection at the VIP Lounge, Jio Gardens (BKC).

Designer Anavila Misra dedicates her craft in making the sari not only sustainable and relevant but also uber trendy to the young. Think of ‘sustainable’, ‘organic’, ‘hand-woven’ and ‘sari’ and you get all in ‘Anavila’. The brand strongly communicates one philosophy – how to keep the sari relevant through time.

The designer finds a muse in leading actor Priyanka Bose, globally known for her meaningful work in the field of cinema. Priyanka’s approach to her craft is with a purpose and she has created her own space in Indian and international cinema. She had curated a unique summer look for Priyanka with separates from her collection – a leaf green linen sari with an underlayer of the net. It was teamed with a white shirt blouse and a polka-dotted petticoat. The look was completed with a pair of fabric shoes. After this out of the box presentation, Anavila hopes that more and more young women will embrace the sari as their personal attire.
