TV Celebs reaction on SC decision for National Anthem

The recent law passed by the Supreme Court, wherein playing the National Anthem, is made mandatory in movie halls before screening every film has evoked a lot of conversations among the masses. Not, just common man is making a buzz regarding the Supreme Court decision, but also the celebrities and popular names are presenting their opinion on different social media platforms.

When Buzzsouk asked TV celebs on their opinion to SC decision and move to promote and boost patriotism this way, here’s what they felt and stated about it.

Ssharad Malhotraa – An eminent Indian film and TV star said that he’s okay with the decision of Supreme Court. But, further adding to his statement he said that patriotism has to be followed from within, there’s nothing in it to be made forceful.

Priyal Gor –The young television actress said that she totally agrees with Supreme Court decision. But, being a citizen of a free country, its people’s wish to consider the anthem relevant to them or not. According to her, if someone really considers the anthem to be worthy of the utmost respect and admiration, then they must decide to honor the anthem by sitting still, close their eyes and contemplate on its meaning.

Jasmin Bhasin – A well-known Indian model and actress, feels that patriotism cannot be forced on anybody. It’s a feeling that should come from within. Further adding, she said that every Indian loves his/her country and he/she is proud of it too. By just playing the national anthem before screening the movie in movie halls, has nothing to do with boosting of patriotism.

Aishwarya Sakhuja – The popular television actress feels that being patriotic is good, but if it is forced upon someone then, it’s not that good as the essence of the feeling is lost. Also, she feels that there are a number of rules and regulations coming one after another, while it would be better enough if everyone is given their individual space to lead the life as per their choice.

Gunjan Utreja –The Indian Television actor-cum-anchor agrees to stand up for the national anthem. But further as stated by Supreme Court decision for closing the entry and exit gates in cinema halls, he feels like stretching it too far. He feels if there‘s some emergency or something goes wrong in a cinema hall during this while, who will be held responsible for closing the exit gates in such a situation.

Navina Bole –Famous television actress feels that it’s a matter of great pride to be an Indian. She whole-heartedly supports the Supreme Court decision and finds it to be a fabulous idea to play the national anthem before every movie screening. Adding to this she stated that there are not many situations where patriotism can be evoked. Also, to show more respect for our national anthem it would be great if the entry and exit gates are closed while it’s being played.

Shardul Pandit – Too, feels that patriotism cannot be insisted forcefully among people by playing the national anthem before every film as it is something that comes with education. He feels it is not necessary to show the love for the country within a movie hall by this means. Also, he adds on that there’s no surety that the person standing in the national anthem is patriotic at heart. While, throwing light on the Goa incident, where a paralyzed man was beaten up for not being able to stand up and asking that would this make people pay their taxes honestly, keep the country clean and follow rules, then it’s great to make this practice mandatory.
