Sandalwood comes alive with romantic reminiscence at Lakme Fashion Week

Kurtas Paired With Saris - Myoho Aw16

Classic glamour reflects in the new line showcased by Myoho, by Kiran and Meghna on the runway at the Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2016, at The St. Regis. Their Autumn Winter collection, ‘Sandalwood’ is a romantic reminiscence of the 1920s.  Myoho has captured this essence beautifully into a modern- romantic wardrobe that is wearable yet dramatic.

Finale - Myoho Aw16

Their new collection echoes of the influence of European fashion from the Indian pre-independence era, creating a heady medley of flapper chic, Victorian decadence and desi sophistication.  The key highlights from the AW line are use of raised floral embroideries and the signature print for the season – a batik bold floral motif. It’s a distinct departure from the minimalism, the duo have enjoyed for some time now with their label.  Myoho is well known for the meticulous play of Indian weaves.

This season Myoho has spotlighted on tiers, exaggerated circular ruffles and pleat details on relaxed, feminine and subtly dramatic silhouettes. The collection features drop waist silhouettes; styled as dresses and kurtas, and exaggerated sleeves with layers, to add a touch of vintage drama.

Designers Kiran and Meghna, have injected a sense of richness by introducing textured gold prints & Benarasi weaves along with classics, like moonga silks and chanderis. The colour palette ranges from icy greys to eye catching pinks and coffee browns, crafted in hand-woven moonga silk, tussar and tissue jamawar.  The brand has collaborated with Zevar Pret for statement jewellery pieces customised for the runway presentation.
