Sacrifice – The Road to Obscurity narrates the crisis in the life of Narayan Keer. He is a humble, lower-middle-class person, whose life revolves around his family. He and his wife work hard so that their children will have a better lifestyle than they had. However, their dreams come crashing down when an influential builder decides to construct a sports complex on the land on which their colony has been built, and asks the residents to vacate the land.

Desperate over the fear of losing their home, primal instincts take over rational. This anxiety brings to the fore superstitions, greed, anger and injustice, mistrust among the residents of the colony. It is during this time, Narayan is urged by his fellow colony members to take a decision on their behalf. A decision which will not only have far-reaching consequences on the lives of more than two hundred people living there but seal his and his family’s fate.
