Fight Infertility with exercises

While exercise can help you maintain a healthier weight, but a healthy dose may actually increase your chances of getting pregnant. Exercise is always recommended for a normal human being, says Dr.  Anubha Singh, Gynecologist, Infertility Expert from Shantah IVF Centre while talking with Buzzsouk.com. Exercise is good for your heart, mind, your lungs, your immune system and the overall body.

Researches have proven that if you are trying to conceive then it is very important for a woman to maintain a healthy lifestyle and being physically fit is of utmost importance as it helps in regaining stamina and rejuvenating the energy level. Exercise is beneficial when you are trying to conceive. If you’re overweight, a sensible exercise program along with prescribed diets can help in conceiving.

But before starting any kind of physical activity it is always good to take advice from your doctor, and only then adopt an exercise schedule. Below are the few simple exercises that help you in easy conception.

hearthealthwomenwalkingBrisk walking – Walking is an ideal pre-conception exercise. It is a great cardiovascular exercise especially if walk at a reasonable pace. This also helps to tone your legs, back, and tummy. All these are very important in treating infertility as being fit is the most integral part of your conception plan. So, go for a regular walk in the morning and evening.

Dancing – Although you dance for fun or it is your hobby but dancing is a great way to stay fit and flexible especially when you’re trying to conceive. Most steps in dancing involve the movement of the whole body and it becomes a really good cardio workout and it tones your muscles and builds stamina.

Swimming – Swimming is the safest and preferred exercise in both before and during pregnancy. It builds up endurance and reduces toxic elements effortlessly. Swimming can be continued even when you are undergoing the infertility treatment and there is always a positive impact on it. It recharges the complete body and is fun too.

Cycling – Cycling is another cardiovascular exercise that keeps your cholesterol levels healthy and reduces your risk for conditions such as type 2 diabetes. It is one of the ideal preconception workouts.o-women-yoga-class-facebook

Yoga – Last but not the least, yoga exercises, meditation, and breath- control exercises makes the mind state calm and reduces anxiety.  By performing fertility yoga, you are strengthening your reproductive organs and muscles that are used during pregnancy and childbirth. Their deep-breathing technique promotes increased blood circulation, reduces stress and imparts relaxation.

Exercise by no means can harm you. In fact, regular practice helps treating long time infertility problem. Also, make sure that you are eating an adequate diet to compensate for the exercise. Your infertility problem can be managed only with a long-term plan with a combination of diet, increased activity, and lifestyle changes.

How to Naturally Ease the menstrual pain ?

 

Menstrual pain is a common thing among teenagers and adults. It is caused due to the shedding of the inner lining of the uterine wall. However, there are many ways to tackling the problem in a more natural way. Dr. Shobha Gupta, Medical Director, Gynecologist and IVF specialist from Mother’s Lap IVF Centre tells you the ways to combat it naturally.

  1. Try light exercise– Exercise during your periods is more than just required. If your body is active then the lesser pain will be felt. Mild exercise is a must. You can simply walk around or use the treadmill for this purpose. These simple exercises will help increase the flow of blood.

  1. Rich diet is a must – There are certain foods that can help ease menstrual pain and discomfort. Eat a lot of whole grains like brown rice or pasta. Also include lots of fruits, milk and green leafy vegetables as it helps to ease the flow during menstruation. You must include vitamin D3 (cheese, egg yolks and fish are the richest sources of Vitamin D3) in your diet. Especially if you live is a colder climate where sunlight is reduced during the winter season.

  1.  Stay hydrated all through the day: Drink lemon water every morning after you wake up. This will have an alkalizing effect on the body and keep the body hydrated and mineralized. You can also have green tea it has amazing stress relieving properties and makes you energized and light all the day.
    5.Hot showers or hot bags– Use either hot water bag or ice bag whatsoever suits your body. Hot compress is more ideal as it can give you immediate results to ease the pain. If it doesn’t seem to work then use ice packs instead. You can also have a hot water bath concentrate on the flow of water on your abdomen and back.

  1.  Massage during- periods gives your body a relaxing feel. Try and do some gentle upwards motions on your lower abdominal area. Repeat the steps 7-8 times.

  1.  Wear comfort clothes– Try and avoid tight fitted clothes especially around your waist. They only hurt your stomach and further cause discomfort.

  1.  Take adequate sleep – Just relax and have enough sleep of 7-8 hours usually as it will help restore the reproductive system and reduces stress. Lack of sleep can disrupt your cycle.

However, if you experience unbearable pain which you never felt before, do take it seriously then.  Do visit a specialist to rule out any cause such as Endometriosis, Fibroids, Polycystic Ovarian  Syndrome (PCOS/PCOD), Pelvic Inflammatory Disease,  Premenstrual Syndrome.
