Recent movie shoot in Kashmir was a ‘Dream Come True’ for Sara Afreen Khan

Actress Sara Afreen Khan, who is currently working on the show Love Ka Hai Intezaar, is pretty excited about her recent Bollywood release ‘Sargoshiyaan’. While attending the screening of the film in Kashmir Valley, actress Sara talked about her experience there. She said, “For me, it was a moment of pride because our film Sargoshiyaan is one of the first films to have a screening after 1989 in Kashmir.”

Also, this is not the first time when Sara has visited Kashmir. “This is my fourth visit to Kashmir. Earlier I went Kashmir for an adventure holiday where I stayed in the houseboat for five days, explored the place, did fishing, horse riding and ended it all with a road trip to Ladakh”, she added. Speaking of the reactions of people of the valley who watched the film, Sara said, “The reaction of people was very emotional. First of all, it was the first film to be released in Kashmir after 1989. And secondly, it is not about sensitive topics like terrorism or insurgency. It is a film about human emotions, the beauty of Kashmir and the beauty of people. So, while the people were watching the film, they got very emotional. Farooq Abdullah Ji, a well-known politician was also present at the event and he gave a speech about how beautiful the film is. So, it was a really good response.”

Sara, while doing the film, felt in love with Kashmir. She says, “Kashmir is a really beautiful. The people there are so warm and kind hearted. I have a special place in heart for them. Shooting in Kashmir was like a dream come true. People call it Jannat, and yes it really looks like heaven. We got support from everyone there be that locals or the politicians, we were all protected. I used to for jogging in the morning but I did not feel any kind od fear. People keep saying that the place is risky, not safe and it was nothing like that. I felt very safe and yes, the most amazing thing was their food. It is simply fantastic !”
